Bulowan Suspension Bridge

The Bulowan Suspension Bridge, originally known as Shanyue Suspension Bridge and built during the Japanese colonial period, is the longest wire bridge in Taroko Gorge and currently Taiwan's gorge suspension bridge with the 'highest deep-span ratio'. From above, looking down, the magnificent mountain formations and grand landscapes carved by the Liwu River, along with the absolutely stunning scenery, will surely all come into view. The Bulowan Suspension Bridge, which connects to Bulowan, will become a brand new tourist highlight in Taroko National Park. This autumn, we welcome you to experience this 'astonishing' adventurous journey. In 2022, the 'Taroko National Park Indigenous Resource Co-Management Committee' (hereinafter referred to as the Co-Management Committee) resolved to rename the Shanyue Suspension Bridge to 'Bulowan Suspension Bridge', adopting a traditional Truku (Taroko) tribal place name.
