Jian Station was formerly known as 'Yoshino Station' and was established in 1914. It was originally built for the local Japanese immigrant village, and after the Retrocession of Taiwan, it was renamed to its current name. As the gateway to Hualien's second most populous township, the renovated Jian Station is an East Expansion standard station, emphasizing spatial permeability, transforming the 'station' back into a 'pavilion' to allow Hualien's beautiful scenery to naturally permeate the station. Its exterior walls retain their original character, creating a calming atmosphere upon sight.
