The Two-Lakes Bikeway features a section that borders the Pacific Ocean, earning its name by connecting Liyu Lake and Qixing Lake. Most visitors typically begin their journey from Nanbin Park, continuing through Beibin Park, Shuguang Bridge, Hualien Niaotashi Park, and concluding at the Hualien Port Scenic Bridge. Locals affectionately call it the 'Coastal Bikeway'. Along the route, amenities such as public restrooms, parks, parking lots, and even bicycle rental stations are available. Visitors from out of town can rent bicycles or electric bikes to cycle or walk along the Pacific, enjoying the vast and refreshing ocean scenery. The Two-Lakes Bikeway is a fully planned, independent cycle path, ensuring no shared lanes with cars or motorcycles. The entire route, converted from former railway lines, is lush, safe, and offers ample opportunities to pause, admire the sea, and feel the ocean breeze, making it an exceptionally delightful experience. Beyond cycling, Beibin Park also provides facilities for beach volleyball and extreme sports, perfect for friends to enjoy, as well as a family water play area, making it a beloved spot for locals to take a leisurely stroll.
