Saoba Stone Pillars

The Saoba Stone Pillars are an archaeological site in Taiwan, located on the southwest side of the confluence of the Xiuguluan River and Hongye River in the Huadong Valley, at the northern end of the Wuhe Terrace. They stand tall in the middle section of the valley, overlooking the Xiuguluan River, offering excellent views and pleasant scenery. There are two Saoba Stone Pillars, and these two adjacent colossal pillars are 5.75 meters and 3.99 meters tall, respectively. Dating back approximately 3,000 years, they are Taiwan's only prehistoric megalithic civilization site. Therefore, the Ministry of the Interior has designated them as a National Class 3 Monument. Not only are they an important symbol of prehistoric megalithic culture, but they have also evoked profound emotions in people from various places throughout history. Here, visitors can not only gaze at the distant Xiuguluan River and the Central Mountain Range, but the mysterious Saoba Stone Pillars, combined with Amis legends, also spark curiosity, making it a great place for tourists to stop and rest.
