Zuocang Trail

Taiwan Cement Corporation (TCC) ceased mining operations at the Zuocang mine and returned the mining area to the Forestry Bureau because the ore produced in the Zuocang mining area was insufficient. After mining stopped and the mountain was closed, Shapowdang Mountain recovered its original appearance. Therefore, in 2003, the Forestry Bureau began planning the current trail, minimizing damage to nature as much as possible, allowing visitors to still see a relatively pristine ecological environment. Shapowdang Mountain, where the Zuocang Trail is located, stands 495 meters high on the eastern flank of the Central Mountain Range and is home to Taiwan's oldest geological strata. From the observation deck at the top of the Zuocang Trail, visitors can enjoy a bird's-eye view of the picturesque scenery where the sky meets the distant water, a sight that refreshes the mind. Zuocang Waterfall is approximately three stories high with a moderate flow of water. Below the waterfall, there is a rock platform where you can enjoy a natural SPA to wash away everyday fatigue, or absorb negative ions by the waterfall, allowing your entire body and mind to relax.
