Traversing the long Provincial Highway 11, the Baqi Lookout can be said to be the most beautiful 'turning point' on this road. When driving from Hualien City through the hairpin bends here, the scenery suddenly transforms from lush green mountains on both sides into a vast expanse of the Pacific Ocean, with the coastal mountain range majestically towering. Stepping into this lookout and gazing eastward, the majestic Pacific Ocean's waters are so blue that they make one forget the journey's fatigue. Looking south, you can also overlook the charming Jizaki Bay, and with the cool sea breeze gently blowing, perhaps you'd like to take a nap here? In addition to pavilions and restrooms, this rest area also features an information station and a small shop, where various indigenous handicrafts, cool drinks, and desserts can help you replenish energy and enrich your travel memories. Furthermore, beneath the observation deck, the East Coast National Scenic Area Administration has built a boardwalk approximately 100 meters long. The boardwalk ends at a cool, shaded grassy platform where visitors can relax, cool off, and listen to the pleasant sounds of cicadas and birds in the mountains. Transportation: ●Public Transport: Hualien Bus (Coastal Line via Provincial Highway 11) - Take routes 1127, 1140, or 1145 and alight at Baqi Station. ●Self-driving: Address: 31.5k mark on Provincial Highway 11, Jizaki Village, Fengbin Township, Hualien County.
