Located in Hualien Fishing Port, it is embraced by the Pacific Ocean, a whale-watching pier, Hualien Fish Market, and the Hualien District Fishermen's Association. It also features the "Pacific Love Tower," the closest high tower to the Pacific Ocean. The expansive views allow visitors to admire the Pacific Ocean, the Coastal Mountain Range, the Central Mountain Range, and Hualien Port. Nearly the entire whale-watching and leisure pier is within its scope, and on days with strong waves, you can even witness the spectacular sight of them crashing against the breakwater. Sunflower Plaza centers on "ocean culture," collaborating with the National Academy of Marine Research, whale-watching operators, and local artisans to connect hundreds of kilometers of coastline and create a Pacific corridor. In the northern exhibition area, artist Chen Sheng-wen has crafted a large whale artwork, over 10 meters long, using embroidery and weaving techniques with discarded materials collected from mountains and beaches. Regularly held markets also allow visitors to browse handmade stalls and enjoy marine art creations accompanied by the sound of waves, bringing the attraction to life with its unique marine characteristics. Adorned with vibrant colors, Sunflower Plaza transforms into an even more vivid Southern European-style town. The colorful cottages, reflecting on the fishing port's water, appear particularly dreamy! The buildings in the plaza feature a Southern European style, with pointed roofs and red, yellow, and blue house colors contrasting with the multicolored geometric patterns on the ground, creating a unique East-meets-West blend that fosters a relaxed vacation atmosphere. The main hall of Sunflower Plaza, managed by the Hualien District Fishermen's Association, boasts a strong Southern European architectural style, serving as the first impression for visitors. Beyond the European-style architecture, the plaza walls feature meticulously planned 3D murals with various vibrant patterns, inviting visitors to interact and take photos, preserving their wonderful travel memories.
