Zhikasuan is the old name for Ji'an Township. In 1985, the Hualien County Government relocated its nursery here, re-planning and renovating the area, transforming Zhikasuan into an important base for natural ecology and a significant recreational spot for holidays. The park boasts a rich variety of plant species; the "Native Plant Zone" particularly showcases precious local indigenous species, serving as a textbook for ecological conservation. There are also eight major areas, including the Aquatic Plant Zone and Green Plaza Zone. Zhikasuan Waterfront Park is open annually from July to August. Its most notable water attractions include the 8-meter-high 360-degree waterslide, added in 2016, and the first artificial surfing pool in eastern Taiwan. Visitors are reminded that the waterfront facilities have height restrictions. Please remember to follow the instructions of the management staff to help maintain the cleanliness and safety of the park. In addition to admiring the numerous flowers, plants, and trees planted here, children especially look forward to coming here every summer to cool off with free water play. The children's splash pool, wave pool, and the thrilling waterslide (even for adults) are incredibly popular throughout the summer, making it a perfect place for families to enjoy together.
