Danongdafu Flatland Forest Park

Covering 1,250 hectares, the park is truly a 'phytoncide generator,' boasting over 20 species and nearly a million trees, making it the perfect place for both physical and mental relaxation. It serves as a new hub for flatland afforestation in the Rift Valley, integrating surrounding agriculture, Xincheng culture, and community development, thereby blending natural and human resources. The park features Taiwan's longest forest cycling trail. On both sides of the visitor center, there are North and South loop cycling paths. Recently, the park began offering bicycle rental services, allowing visitors to experience the joy of cycling and stretch their muscles without bringing their own bikes – an undoubtedly wonderful low-carbon, eco-friendly activity. Furthermore, it is a haven for the 'pearl of the grassland' – the Taiwan ring-necked pheasant (an endemic subspecies) – attracting many birdwatchers who come to feast their eyes. Approximately 5 kilometers south of the Flatland Forest lies the Dafu Community, composed of Dafeng Village and Dafu Village. It is a small yet beautiful community where cyclists can reach the train station directly from the provincial highway, stroll along a row of community mural walls, then cycle alongside the Jianong River levee, gazing at the lush scenery of the Rift Valley.
