Visitor Essentials

The Fenglin Bicycle Trail starts from Shin Kong Chao Feng Ranch on Provincial Highway 9, following small paths through layers of fields. After turning onto Fuxing Road, it proceeds towards Fenglin Township's downtown area, where you will pass traditional tobacco industry buildings such as the Liao Kuai Tobacco Barn and the Lin Jin Cheng Tobacco Barn. Eastern Taiwan is home to a significant Hakka population, and Fenglin is one of the largest Hakka communities in Eastern Taiwan. Tobacco barns are highly representative buildings of Hakka culture, and some have now been converted into restaurants and guesthouses, giving new value to memories of a bygone era. In front of Fenglin Railway Station, the "Principals' Dream Works" gathers the dreams of over 80 principals and many teachers who originated from Fenglin over the years, aiming to create a "living classroom" to supplement the shortcomings of school education. The Japanese-style official residences remain vibrant thanks to the infusion of these dreams. After circling past the railway station, follow the cycling path back to Provincial Highway 9. Gaze upon fertile plains and distant green mountains, concluding a cycling trip rich in culture and nature. Total length: Approximately 24 kilometers. Road conditions: Mostly field paths, generally fair.
