Daniao Rest Area

The Daniao Rest Area is located on Provincial Highway 9 (Southern Link Highway) in Dawu Township, Taitung, serving as an unmissable stop for travelers exploring the Southern Link. This area is home to the Daniao Tribe, a prominent Paiwan tribe along the Southern Link. In their tribal language, it is called 'Pacavalj,' meaning 'swamp' or 'pond land,' symbolizing the profound connection between the tribe and the land. The entire rest area integrates modern architectural design with distinctive Paiwan cultural features, allowing travelers to experience the local tribal ambiance even while taking a break.
