Takofan Secret Realm

The Takofan Secret Realm is situated on the bank of the Beinan River, on the eastern side of Degao Village, Guanshan Township, Taitung County, covering an area of approximately 2 to 3 hectares. Originally, it was a wetland left after construction by the Eighth River Management Office of the Water Resources Agency, Ministry of Economic Affairs. Through a collaboration between the Guanshan Township Office, Taitung County, and the Agency of Irrigation and Water Conservancy, it was transformed into an artificial pond. Its name, Takofan, comes from the Amis pronunciation used by the local Degao Tribe, hence it is known as the Takofan Secret Realm.
