Visitor Essentials
Zhongxing Outpost is located in Heping Village (known locally as Balayabai Village) in Luye Township. It sits at a high vantage point where the Luye River and Beinan River converge, offering an extremely vast view that overlooks Dulan Mountain, Baizinan Mountain, and other surrounding areas. During the martial law period, it was used to patrol the Luye River Bridge between Luye Station and Shanli Station, ensuring the safety of railway transportation. In 1982, due to the Taiwan Railways Administration's (TRA) Taitung Line railway widening project, Zhongxing Station was officially abandoned, and the Zhongxing Outpost was subsequently decommissioned. Today, it has become a cherished spot for many railway enthusiasts to photograph trains, and also serves as a rest stop for cyclists exploring the Luye Countryside Cycling Path.
