Zhangyuan Presbyterian Church

The Zhangyuan Christian Presbyterian Church is located in Zhangyuan Village, the northernmost part of Changbin Township. In 1990, the original church was damaged by a typhoon. During the renovation, a creative idea emerged to rebuild the church in the shape of a large ship. Low walls surround both sides of the building, resembling a ship sailing into Zhangyuan Harbor, about to dock. The distinctive red brick tribal totems on the exterior walls symbolize the enduring spirit of the local indigenous community.
