After the Green Island round-the-island road opened, the ancient trail gradually lost its original function. The East Coast National Scenic Area Administration fully renovated it, paved it with flagstones, and renamed it "Guoshan Ancient Trail." The Guoshan Ancient Trail is 1.85 kilometers long, and a round trip takes about 90-100 minutes. Following the flagstone path of the Guoshan Ancient Trail uphill, you'll discover rich natural ecology along the way. You can observe various typical Green Island plants at any time, such as tree remains, Lanyu Dalbergia, Melastoma candidum, and Rhodomyrtus tomentosa. Furthermore, you can spot Taiwan orb-weaver spiders and tree-climbing lizards everywhere. It is a forest trail rich in ecological landscapes. Travelers can stroll leisurely and carefully observe terrestrial flora and fauna like plants, lizards, and insects, discovering many unforgettable surprises.
