Visitor Essentials

South of Nanliao Fishing Harbor is a continuous coral reef coast that gently slopes into the sea, boasting rich underwater coral reefs, tropical fish, and shellfish. Commonly seen species include whip coral, umbrella coral, and reishi mushroom coral, along with barrel sponges, giant Christmas tree worms, pufferfish, flounders, angelfish, shrimp, and crabs. Nanliao Fishing Harbor is widely recognized as the best viewing point for underwater scenery, earning it the nickname "Underwater Park." With stable currents and an average depth of 15-20 meters, it is one of Green Island's most popular diving spots. At low tide, a dazzlingly bright green expanse of sea lettuce is revealed. Crustaceans and fish are abundant in the tide pools and reef rocks, often attracting seabirds to feed, making it an excellent birdwatching spot and the perfect place for snorkeling.
