Xindong Sugar Refinery Cultural Park

The Xindong Sugar Refinery Cultural Park is located in Dulan Village, Donghe Township, nestled at the foot of the scenic Dulan Mountain. The Xindong Sugar Refinery was initially built in the 1930s during the Japanese colonial period, funded privately. Due to excellent local conditions for growing sugarcane, its annual production once ranked first among the 19 sugar refineries across Taiwan. However, due to changes in Taiwan's economic structure, the factory closed in 1991. After the refinery space lay idle for many years, it was actively transformed into the "Xindong Sugar Refinery Cultural Park" under the guidance of the Taitung County Government. It has attracted artists, local youth, and food and beverage businesses, becoming an arts and cultural creative park full of dreams and passion.
