The Liji Badlands cover a vast area, extending approximately 100 kilometers from north of Taitung Bridge to the east side of Beinan River. It is named Liji Badlands because the most prominent geological formations are located in Liji Village. The Liji Badlands is Taitung County's first officially established local geological park, earning the title 'National Geological Treasure of Taitung'. The Hualien-Taitung Valley National Scenic Area Administration has installed facilities such as observation pavilions and wooden boardwalks here, hoping to promote geological tourism and attract more visitors to experience the beauty of Taiwan's geology.
