Zhiben Canal Waterfront Park

Zhiben Canal Waterfront Park was developed by the Taitung Irrigation Association in Taitung County, making use of its irrigation canals. The canal's intake was originally constructed during the Japanese occupation period. Before the improvement of the left bank embankment, this area was disorganized and desolate, creating a stark contrast with the beautiful scenery of the tourist hotel on the opposite bank. Following greening and beautification efforts implemented with natural ecological engineering methods, visitors now experience a profound sense of tranquility and a connection to the past.
