Luming Suspension Bridge Scenic Recreational Area

The Luming Suspension Bridge is located in Yanping Township, Taitung County, at the junction of Yanping, Luye, and Beinan Townships. Built in 1959 (Min-guo 49), it was once one of the main bridges on the old Provincial Highway 9. It is a steel cable suspension bridge, approximately 100 meters long. After Provincial Highway 9 was realigned and straightened in 1984 with the construction of the new Luming Bridge, the Luming Suspension Bridge's function was gradually superseded. However, it still serves as a vital access road for Hongye Village and the mountainous regions of Yanping Township. Locals often refer to it as the 'Old Luming Suspension Bridge' or 'Old Luming Bridge.' In 2003, it was designated as a historical building by the Taitung County Government. Subsequently, under the planning of the Yanping Township Office, it was renovated and transformed into the 'Luming Suspension Bridge Scenic Recreational Area,' featuring facilities such as a pedestrian viewing area and an observation deck.
