Bunun Cultural Museum

The Bunun Cultural Museum, which opened in 2002, is located at the entrance to the eastern section of the Southern Cross-Island Highway. It is a magnificent three-story building spanning 1.37 hectares, rich in indigenous cultural characteristics. Inside, visitors will find diverse facilities. The first floor hosts the Haiduan Township Southern Cross-Island Highway Eastern Section Tourist Service Center, offering travel information. The second floor is dedicated to special exhibitions, with four new exhibitions held each year. The third floor houses the Haiduan Township Bunun Story Museum and an audio-visual classroom. The Story Museum showcases a rich variety of Bunun crafts and traditional daily necessities, such as wood carvings, weaving, pottery, wooden steam buckets, and rattan lunchboxes. Visitors can enter for free to explore independently or book a professional guided tour. The audio-visual classroom serves as a venue for various workshops and conferences. Additionally, outside the museum, a performance plaza serves as an important venue for Bunun ceremonial and cultural activities.
