During the Japanese colonial era, the Japanese government, in an effort to centrally manage the scattered Bunun settlements in the mountains, forced the Bunun people to descend and settle in designated locations. At the same time, they extensively confiscated the hunting rifles and ammunition that the Bunun people relied on for their livelihood. To protect their homeland, the Bunun people rose up in resistance, employing guerrilla tactics to oppose the Japanese, leaving behind many heroic and moving deeds. Among these, the 'Wulu Incident' is the most representative.
