Guanshan Mountain Pass

The Guanshan Mountain Pass on the Southern Cross-Island Highway is a must-visit attraction on any Southern Cross-Island Highway itinerary. Located on the border between Taitung and Kaohsiung counties, this pass, at an elevation of 2,722 meters, is more widely known for the Daguanshan Tunnel, which traverses the main ridge of the Central Mountain Range. It is the highest point on the Southern Cross-Island Highway and also Taiwan's highest-altitude tunnel.
