Dajin Waterfall

Dajin Waterfall has many aliases, such as Weiliau Waterfall, Awu Waterfall, or Xinfeng Waterfall. It consists of 5 tiers. The routes to the 1st and 2nd tiers are more popular, with well-developed hiking trails. However, the 3rd, 4th, and 5th tiers are not recommended for visitors due to the long distance, poor trail conditions, slippery and difficult-to-walk rocks, deep and dangerous pools, and frequent sightings of snakes and insects along the way. It is advisable to attempt these tiers only if fully equipped. The Dajin Waterfall generally known to the public refers to the 1st and 2nd tiers. Although the water flow is not particularly abundant, it cascades vertically down from high rock cliffs like soft, smooth white silk, exuding a unique graceful charm. Especially against the backdrop of dark rock walls, the waterfall appears even more transparent and pristine. Below the waterfall is a pool. Although its area is not large, surrounded by lush trees, the entire environment is made elegant and serene, making it the most attractive spot for visitors to linger. Sitting on the rocks by the pool, enjoying the cool shade of the trees, listening to the murmuring water, and watching the splashing spray, one instinctively wants to take deep, deep breaths. This is because the air here is filled with natural "vitamins" – healthy "negative ions" generated when the mist from the waterfall meets oxygen produced by plant photosynthesis or ultraviolet rays from the sun. Dajin Waterfall is not only a refreshing place to beat the summer heat but also an area brimming with health-promoting elements. If you continue along the hiking trail in the waterfall area, you will reach an observation pavilion. This spot offers a vantage point for panoramic views; from within the pavilion, you can enjoy a full view of Dajin Waterfall, as well as overlook the pastoral scenery at the foot of the mountain and the beautiful riverside landscape, creating an even more pleasant and tranquil experience.
