Visitor Essentials
Anpo Village, located in Sandimen Township, is a fairyland where you can enjoy various dark green rock formations dancing with rushing currents, allowing your stressed mind to relax and your restless emotions to be soothed. After passing through the Green Maple Tunnel, you can enter Anpo Village, which is located by the roadside of the Mountain Highway. According to local elders, their ancestors migrated here more than a hundred years ago from Dashe Village on the opposite mountain. During the Japanese colonial period, approximately sixty households gathered here, and the Japanese police at the time named the village "Anbojya." It was renamed Anpo Village after the Retrocession of Taiwan. In the Anpo Village river valley, with its clear waters and picturesque scenery, a large cluster of stones has been sculpted by the long-term erosion of the stream, forming various awe-inspiring masterpieces; local villagers refer to these colossal works as "Big Water Rush."
