Dragonfly Gallery's sole gourmet restaurant is situated in Sanhemen Township, Pingtung County, amidst green mountains, lush fields, and beautiful scenery. Established in 1983, it has been in operation for over twenty years. The proprietor, Ms. Shiou-Chu Shi, not only possesses profound expertise in the unique cultural heritage of indigenous peoples—glass beads—but has also pioneered innovation and spearheaded the development of local industries. Combining Sanhemen's natural landscapes with the indigenous cultural characteristics of the Paiwan tribe, it aims to create a distinctive cultural and culinary complex, focusing on themed dining that embodies humanities, art, and tribal cuisine. It is currently Sanhemen's most iconic leisure dining establishment and, furthermore, the foremost institution for the preservation and promotion of glass bead art. Ms. Shi is also a leading example of a successful female entrepreneur. To invigorate the tribal economy, she has dedicated considerable effort and passion to help her fellow villagers secure stable incomes. Presently, all staff members are local indigenous women, all of whom exhibit remarkable patience and meticulous craftsmanship. The restaurant offers these indigenous women more than just a job or a skill; it provides them with a sense of dignity in their existence and the warmth of life. Since its inception, the restaurant has dedicated itself to promoting indigenous tribal cuisine, researching and innovating to enhance its appeal to contemporary consumers, consistently creating unique flavored dishes, and preserving Paiwan cultural gastronomy. It also addresses the public's enthusiasm and curiosity about indigenous culture, emphasizing how to highlight the unique essence of Paiwan cuisine and how to link Paiwan's cultural history to the wider world through its food. To offer visitors a complete and immersive experience, beyond dining at the 'Unique Indigenous Gourmet Restaurant' where customers can savor delicious Paiwan-flavored meals, the establishment also sells bead art products, provides glass bead firing experiences, DIY bead stringing workshops, and tribal guided tours, enabling everyone to appreciate the distinctive beauty of Taiwan's Paiwan indigenous people.
