Artisan Village

With a history of approximately 60 years, this old residential complex originally served as dormitories for the Forestry Bureau. After several years as the 'Rainbow Home,' a shelter for single mothers, the Pingtung County Government recently transformed it into the 'Artisan Village' (職人町). Conceived as 'entrepreneurial apartments to boost Pingtung brands,' it was specifically created to foster youth entrepreneurship. The project primarily targets young people and migrant communities, aiming to provide a space where young entrepreneurs with successful experience can gather and flourish. The Artisan Village officially opened in March 2019. To establish it as a new landmark in downtown Pingtung, the resident company, Yizhan Xingye (藝展興業), creatively adorned the exterior walls. The bold colors and imaginatively realistic graffiti are truly eye-catching. The three buildings have swiftly become a new hub for Pingtung's artistic youth, a popular photo spot for influencers, and a vibrant gathering place for selected youth entrepreneurial brands in Pingtung!
