Wutu Power Plant

The Wutu Power Plant, already a century-old historical monument, is situated on the south bank of the middle reaches of the Zhuoshui River in Wutu Village. Built in 1923, it was originally constructed to power the Wushantou Reservoir, with electricity transmittable up to 100 kilometers away. Inside the Wutu Power Plant, there are three well-preserved generator units that are still in operation today. The power plant draws its water from the Zhuoshui River and Qingshui River. The generator building features a Baroque-style brick wall structure, notable for having no beams, columns, or reinforced concrete. The internal machinery also has over 70 years of history, making it an important asset in Taiwan's power development.
