Gangwei Shuntian Temple

The Gangwei Shuntian Temple, historically known as the ancestral temple of the 'Emperor God of Flood Rescue', primarily enshrines Lord Guan (Guansheng Dijun). According to legend, early settlers brought the deity from Zhao'an County, Zhangzhou, Fujian, to Taiwan during the Kangxi Emperor's reign and built the temple. It has undergone several major renovations, with its current appearance established during the reconstruction in 1988 (77th year of the Republic of China). Every year on the 13th day of the fifth lunar month, the birthday of the Emperor God is celebrated, with local residents performing plays and offering prayers.
