The tradition of 'Shenkeng Fozu (Guanyin) worshipping the River King' is understood to promote river ecological protection. The Erlun Shenkengzai Guanyin Temple primarily worships Guanyin Bodhisattva. The temple's spiritual lineage originates from Chongxian Temple in Shuibiántóu, Lunbei. Annually, on the Lantern Festival night (the 15th day of the first lunar month), residents of Shenkeng perform the 'Bumi Luo' ritual to consult on the auspiciousness of agricultural matters. On the 15th day of the seventh lunar month, the 'Bai Xi Wang' (Worshipping the River King) ceremony is held.
