Garan Temple

The Garan Temple, located at the end of the village street, is dedicated to Garan-ye, the protector god. It is an important temple in the Xiluo area. Garan-ye's divine status is comparable to that of the City God (Chenghuang-ye), and all matters of the visible and invisible worlds within Xiluo Fort are under his jurisdiction. Every year, after the Garan Temple holds the 'Xie Ping An' (Thanksgiving for Peace) ceremony on the 18th day of the 10th lunar month, the various communities can then take turns holding thanksgiving rituals to the gods.
