Huwei Fu'an Temple - Sugar Factory Mazu

Fu'an Temple, primarily dedicated to Mazu, is also known as 'Sugar Factory Mazu' (糖廠媽) for blessing industries. Its early devotees were almost exclusively employees of the Huwei Sugar Factory, which led people to affectionately call it 'Sugar Factory Mazu'. The temple was established around the early post-war period, with its spiritual lineage (incense) originating from Lukang Tianhou Temple and Lukang Xinzu Temple. Annually, during 'Bu Dong' – the start of the sugar production season – the sugar factory would invite Mazu to tour the area and bestow blessings.
