Huwei Tianhou Temple

Yu Er Ma, who helps in emergencies, alleviates difficulties, and protects the local community. The Huwei Tianhou Temple is known locally as 'Er Ma Temple'. Its Mazu worship tradition originates from the 'Yu Er Heavenly Holy Mother' (not Lin Moniang) of the Tianhou Temple in Shanshang District, Tainan. During the Huwei Ghost Festival (Zhongyuan Festival) on the 15th day of the 7th lunar month, the altar for the Western District's Pudu (universal salvation) ceremony is set up in front of the Tianhou Temple, attracting many domestic and international tourists.
