'Ying's Happiness Workshop' was established in 2004. Teacher Lin Pei-ying adheres to the philosophy of 'craftspeople with a public-spirited heart; prioritizing environmental protection and cultural inheritance,' actively promoting the art of wrapped thread flowers (Chan Hua) in central and southern Taiwan. From product development to production, the teacher predominantly employs 'Green Craft' (eco-friendly practices), drawing inspiration from the local culture and distinctive features of Taiwan or Yunlin County. Themes include dragonflies, purple crow butterflies, fairy pittas (eight-colored birds), golden bats, Japanese white-eyes, Taiwan blue magpies, Eurasian tree sparrows, white wagtails, Taiwan water-lilies, plum blossoms, magnolias, and lilies. These regional motifs are meticulously handcrafted into modern fashion accessories such as brooches, necklaces, and bolo ties, seamlessly blending traditional Chun Zai Hua (spring flowers) with contemporary style. This innovative approach accentuates the wearer's personality, taste, and style, making the pieces appealing to all ages and cleverly integrating this traditional craft into daily life. The aim is to ensure that this profound and extensive cultural art form – the Chan Hua craft – is preserved and passed down for future generations, utilizing these eco-conscious design elements.
