Gukeng Green Tunnel Rest Stop

The 'Gukeng Green Tunnel Rest Stop' in Yunlin serves as an entrance marketing showcase for tourism entering eastern Yunlin via Provincial Highway 3. It is an international-standard tourism and recreation service highlight established under the 'Yunlin 3 Forests - Slow Food, Good Travel, Leisurely Living' cross-domain spotlight project, which was funded by the Tourism Bureau of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications for Yunlin County. The operation of this rest stop was outsourced to private management via an OT (Operate-Transfer) model in July 2017, with Nanrenhu Enterprises securing the operating rights. Construction commenced with a groundbreaking ceremony in October of the same year. Under the guidance of the Tourism Bureau, the integrated efforts of the county government team, township offices, and private enterprises over more than a year led to its grand inauguration and opening on November 10, 2018. The opening of the 'Gukeng Green Tunnel Rest Stop' was held in conjunction with the 'Food and Art Festival' international marketing event of the cross-domain spotlight project, aiming to promote Yunlin to the international stage and allow domestic and international tourists to discover its beauty.
