Dounan Shun'an Temple

Known as 'Cai Pu Ma' (Mazu of Preserved Radish), having crossed the sea to Taiwan over a hundred years ago. Dounan Shun'an Temple primarily worships Mazu. It was founded in the early Qing Dynasty. During the Tongzhi reign, led by Elder Zeng, residents from 53 villages relocated and rebuilt it at its current site. Many stalls near the temple entrance sell preserved foods like cai pu (preserved radish) and suan cai (pickled mustard greens), hence its common name 'Cai Pu Ma'. A prayer and procession for peace is held on the 21st day of the third lunar month, Mazu's birthday.
