Tongxin Homestead

Tongxin Homestead, located in Huwei, Yunlin, is a historical witness to Huwei's sugar industry. It currently houses the Taiwan Sugar No. 11 steam locomotive, a monument commemorating the introduction of South African sugarcane variety 310, and sugar-making tools for public viewing. The trees within are mostly early Taiwanese camphor trees and tropical plants transplanted from Southeast Asia, seemingly documenting the rise and fall of Huwei's sugar industry, and also providing relief from Yunlin's scorching sun.
