Although the exterior of Zhenxing Temple appears simple and unassuming, it is where the memorial tablet of Master Ashan, the founder of Qikan martial arts, is enshrined. Zhenxing She, located next to Zhenxing Temple, was the martial arts academy founded by Master Ashan in the past. From the archway at the entrance to Master Ashan's tomb behind the temple, one can see the historical origins of Xiluo Qikan and the development of Xiluo. When discussing Xiluo Qikan martial arts, Master Ashan (Liu Mingshan) must be mentioned. Master Ashan settled in Xiluo after arriving in Taiwan in 1828 (the 8th year of the Daoguang reign). Being proficient in martial arts, he established a martial arts academy here, training disciples and fostering a flourishing martial arts culture in Xiluo. Master Ashan's tomb behind Zhenxing Temple is not his original burial site; it was relocated here by later generations.
