The Shuilin Fanshucuo Shuntian Temple is unique for enshrining Taiwan's only standing Mazu, reverently known as Fanshuliao Mazu. The founding Mazu statue stands tall with both hands raised towards the sky, a truly rare sight in Taiwan's cultural legacy. Annually, on the 15th day of the first lunar month, the temple celebrates the Lantern Festival with grand events including the 'big turtle' ritual, releasing sky lanterns, and shooting fire horses, followed by a three-day and three-night procession.
