Hukou Wetland

This wetland and grassland ecological area, located along the section of Hukou Village, Kouhu Township, Yunlin County, was originally a Taisugar farm. After being hit by Typhoon Wayne in 1986, seawater intrusion made it impossible to continue farming the large sugarcane plantation. After being abandoned for many years, and through the passage of time, the land, despite harsh environmental conditions, transformed into a paradise for wild plants. Without artificial landscaping or planting, and integrated into the wetland recreational area planned by the local government, it has nonetheless developed a unique rustic charm.
