Beigang 'Jar Wall'

The Jar Wall was part of the perimeter wall of the mansion belonging to Yan Dongyi, a wealthy merchant who operated rice mills and oil factories. The mansion was built during the Daoguang era. After the major earthquake in the 31st year of Guangxu (1905), a portion of the Jar Wall was preserved when the mansion was rebuilt.
