The Muma Ancient Trail, once a plank road for timber transport, has been rebuilt into a recreational trail. It meanders through a 516-hectare forest, featuring Moso bamboo and mixed cedar forests, preserving intact original timber and a rich ecosystem where Swinhoe's Pheasants are often seen. Along the trail, visitors will find bamboo pavilions, ecological ponds, the Shibi Xian Bridge, charcoal kiln ruins, and a high-point observation deck with views of Jianan Yunfeng Peak and Shibishan Mountain. The Yangmieliao Elevated Boardwalk (Skywalk) offers close-up views of towering Japanese cedars. The trail is tranquil and comfortable, boasting beautiful forest scenery and clear interpretive signs, making it an ideal destination for families. To minimize environmental impact, the trail's development has focused on a low-impact approach, promoting niche, in-depth, and distinctive tourism, respecting the current dense and protective vegetation along its path.
