Blue skies, white clouds, red paper, and white walls are the most striking impressions for travelers visiting Beixi Cuo, the paper-cutting and painted art village. A festive atmosphere, much like a holiday celebration, permeates the entire community. This is the result of the 'Huwei Rainbow Village Project' undertaken in 2012 by the National Formosa University Art Center and the Huwei Township Office. Its goal was 'to allow the energy of art to permeate the community' and to revitalize the rural village through interactions between students and community residents. This painted wall stretches for approximately 500 meters, with designs primarily featuring auspicious patterns, benevolent dragons, and propitious lions. The creative process fostered a strong sense of unity among community residents and awakened the long-dormant inner spirits of many. Perhaps it's an unexpected delight: as you stroll along the avenue of paper-cutting art walls, you can discover surprises at every turn, unearthing ancient cultural art. All of this awaits visitors who come to explore, allowing them to experience the beauty of Beixi Community amidst its simplicity.
