The precious specimens displayed in the Petrified Wood Museum boast over thirty colors and textures, each with a history spanning hundreds of millions of years. These world-class treasures await your appreciation. All these fossils are products of volcanic eruptions from hundreds of millions of years ago. Organisms such as trees, animals, and snails were buried by volcanic magma and transformed into fossils under extremely harsh conditions of high temperature and low pressure. Some, due to the integration of volcanic materials and intense physical and chemical changes, have evolved into translucent, jade-like stones. Experts consulted by the museum state that the probability of finding such petrified wood is one in a million – meaning only one petrified wood fossil forms from a million trees buried by volcanic ejecta. Petrified jade is even rarer. The Petrified Wood Exhibition Hall is located within the Lungsheng Gardening Materials Store on Minsheng Road in Tianwei Highway Garden. Covering an area of 500 pings (approximately 1,650 square meters), it houses over three thousand unique and fascinating petrified wood specimens and gemstones, each hundreds of millions of years old. Some are entire tree trunks, while others are fossils exhibiting unique growth patterns. Some stones display over thirty colors, presenting a vibrant, mottled brilliance. The museum also features a sales area where visitors can purchase their favorite fossils, and the cleaning fee can be offset against purchases.
