Nine Dragons Banyan King

The Nine Dragons Banyan King is located under the Zhuoshui River levee in Tianzi Village, Zhutang Township, Changhua County. Nurtured by Taiwan's mother river, the Zhuoshui River, a small banyan tree took root and grew here. A hundred years later, it became Taiwan's 'widest' single tree, with its canopy covering an area of over 3,000 ping (approximately 9,900 square meters), making it a classic example of 'a single tree forming a forest'. Its branches are intertwined and its thick aerial roots spread out from the trunk like dragon claws, resembling dragons soaring through the nine heavens, hence the name 'Nine Dragons'. Before the construction of the Xiluo Bridge, it served as a landmark for villagers returning home after crossing the river to procure daily necessities. Beneath the tree, locals have also set up a shrine with statues of the Three Sacred Buddhas for worship, believed to grant every wish.
