Wood mosaic craftsman Huang Wen-bin's skills are rooted in traditional wooden mold techniques, yet he dares to challenge and innovate. What others see as discarded small wood blocks, Huang Wen-bin sees as treasures. With a philosophy of cherishing wood and materials for environmental recycling and reuse, he glues and presses the wood blocks, then uses lathe technology and bearing principles, combining the beauty of wood colors, to create piece after piece of stunning wood mosaic creations. He transforms the precision and standardization pursued in wooden molds into artistic creations of practical crafts, complemented by his brilliant design sense for wood colors. Through long-term dedication and research, Huang Wen-bin has honed his exceptional skills, repeatedly winning various awards, including: The 5th Top Ten Technical Model (Golden Skill Award), an Excellence Award at the 4th Hsiang-hsi Art Exhibition, Finalist in the 12th Taiwan Craft Design Competition, Finalist in the 2008 Taiwan Craft Competition, and Finalist in the 2015 Taiwan International Wood Sculpture Competition. In 2020, Huang Wen-bin was selected for the Taiwan Crafts House. The "Jing Ping Mei Craft Creation Workshop" exhibits beautiful wood mosaic pieces, which are completed through meticulous and precise angle calculations and comprehensive and detailed design planning. These pieces demonstrate the exquisite craftsmanship of Jing Ping wood art, making woodworking not just carpentry, but also exquisite and ingenious craft, and by incorporating mechanisms, it transforms into an innovative artistic vision.
