For over 120 years, with Changhua Christian Hospital at its core, the development of medical technology and the church in central Taiwan has undergone tremendous changes. Many missionaries joined, expanding the overall foundation, and numerous stories of love unfolded during this period, especially the historical event of 'The Love of Cutting Skin,' which is widely talked about. Dr. David Landsborough and his family, spanning two generations, dedicated their lives to Changhua. Coupled with the medical missionaries who successively joined, and the team of church pastors led by Rev. Campbell N. Moody, they formed a complete system of physical, mental, and spiritual care. The historical development context of this system holds significant historical research value. Therefore, to preserve and study the precious historical materials from the past 120 years, Changhua Christian Hospital established the Changhua Christian Hospital Museum of History and Cultural Artifacts in 1998, specifically to preserve these valuable historical artifacts. Adhering to the core value of 'God Loves the World,' the Changhua Christian Hospital Museum of History and Culture focuses on the social care network established by Western missionaries, which formed the medical and church systems in central Taiwan, as its subject for collection, research, and application. Its purpose is to archive, add value to, and provide social learning opportunities based on medical historical materials from central Taiwan.
