The Guogou Village Grape King Old Tree

In 1964 (the 53rd year of the Minguo calendar), farmers in Dacun Township introduced 6 Kyoho grapevines from Japan and planted them at their homes in Guogou Village. Thanks to excellent management and a suitable climate, farmers extensively propagated them through cuttings and grafting, producing many saplings that were then promoted to other farmers. This led to Dacun developing a grape industry and becoming known as the "hometown of grapes." Currently, only 2 of the original 6 grapevines are still alive. About 7 or 8 years ago, under the care of a new owner, they revived and became vibrant, bearing abundant fruit every year. Their yield is three to four times that of regular grapes, and they taste better too.
