Shi Xinghui, whose pottery name is Fangjie, was born in Lukang in 1963. His works have won the 2nd and 3rd National Folk Craft Awards. "I am unwilling to create works that do not move me" is Shi Xinghui's creative philosophy. Over more than two decades of pottery-making, he has continuously pondered the various relationships between himself and the land, life, and creation. He delves into these relationships by exploring people, events, objects, and places in daily life, and expresses the connection between humans and art through every bit of inspiration from his surroundings. After many years of refinement, he has gradually integrated every scene and object from daily life into his creations.
