Xinzumiao Temple is a temple built by imperial decree and funded by Emperor Qianlong. In October of the 52nd year of Emperor Qianlong's reign (1787 AD), General Fuk'anggan, Duke Jiayong, led a formidable army of over 100,000 soldiers to Lukang to suppress the Lin Shuangwen rebellion. Although it was said that the soldiers fought bravely, divine assistance was also relied upon. Consequently, imperial funds were allocated to initiate its construction. The foundation was laid and beams erected in December of that year, and construction was completed in June of the following year. The statue of the Heavenly Holy Mother was enshrined there, and it is commonly known as 'Xingong' (New Temple).
